7th Grade Girls

12/4/11 Edison 19, Princeton 29

The 7th Grade Girls travel team lost to a talented Princeton team in the opening game of the 2011-2012 North Brunswick Basketball season. The division is made up of a mix of 7th and 8th grade teams. The girls played tough against the experienced Princeton team with Brooke Bandola leading the scoring with 6 points, followed by Lauren Cassella with 4, Dominique Ward and Hayley Hohmann with 3, Julianne Siecinski 2 and Priya Patel 1. Laya Paladugu and Brianna Zederbaum contributed defensively.

12/10/11 Edison 31, East Brunswick 6

The 7th Grade girls team defeated East Brunswick, with the help of strong defensive play. Leading 18-2 at the half, the girls continued to play solid and take their first victory. Brooke Bandola led the scoring with 12 points, followed by Hayley Hohmann with 11, Dominique Ward with 4, and Julianne Siecinski and Priya Patel with 2. Alanna Benderly, Laya Paladugu and Brianna Zederbaum kept the pressure on East Brunswick, forcing many turnovers and capturing multiple rebounds.

12/18/11 Edison 27, Metuchen 5

The 7th Grade Girls travel team defeated Metuchen, continuing with their strong defensive play. Julianne Siecinski and Dominique Ward led the scoring with 6 points each, followed by Hayley Hohman, with 5, Alanna Benderly with 4, and Laya Paladugu, Brianna Zederbaum and Brooke Bandola each adding 2. Lipi Paladugu returned from an ankle injury and was able to participate on a limited basis. The team banded together defensively and forced numerous turnovers, extending their record to 2 – 1.
