Edison 7th Grade Travel Team recognized by Major Jun Choi
Major Jun Choi recognized the Edison 7th Grade Travel Team for their very successful season at
the Edison Family Day Opening Ceremonies. The Mayor awarded each individual player with a certificate
listing their accomplishments of this past season that included the Central Jersey Basketball League
Championship, the North Brunswick Basketball Association Championship, and an Overall Record of 28-0.
The Mayor signed the team ball and a great time was had by all.

The Edison Boys 7th Grade Travel Team got off to a strong
start this weekend by going 3-0. They outscored their opponents by a combined score of 150 - 84.
They were lead by last years returning players Jonathan Hilliman with 81 points, Sky Harris
with 16, Shlok Garg with 11, Joey Siecinski with 4, and Daven Modi with 2. The
new players to this years team also contributed to the teams success and were led by James Waldron
with 12 points, Frank Smith with 11, Aqeel Daniels with 10, Tyler Uckar with 2, and Wesley
Mah with 1. They are playing very well as a team, having a great time, and are looking
forward to continuing to improve their game.
12/14/08 - Edison 47, South Brunswick 36
The 7th Grade Travel Team continued their strong start with
a hard fought victory over South Brunswick, which was last years #1
seeded team in the regular season of the Central Jersey Basketball
League. They fell behind early, but overcame a
tough start on the road to continue their 4 game winning streak. Jonathan
Hilliman overcame early foul trouble to lead the team in scoring
with 16 points. All of the players contributed to the win and
got on the scoring board with Sky Harris, Aqeel Daniels, and Frank
Smith scoring 6 points, James Waldron with 4, Tyler Uckar with 3,
and Joey Siecinski, Shlok Garg, and Wesley Mah scoring 2.
12/17/08 - Edison 58, Franklin Heat Gold 51
The 7th Grade Boys Travel Team improved their record to 5-0 with another hard
fought victory in the North Brunswick League. They were down by 2 points with 2
minutes to go, due to Franklin making seven 3 pointers, but showed their
toughness with a big finish and a 7 point victory. They were lead by Jonathan
Hilliman with 27 points, Sky Harris with 15, Aqeel Daniels with 6, James Waldren
with 5 - (not including the 2 points he scored for the other team), Frank Smith
with 3, and Joey Siecinski with 2.
12/21/08 - Edison 40 - Iselin 17
The 7th Grade Boys ran their record to 6 - 0 with a convincing victory over
Iselin in the North Brunswick League. They started the game with an 18-0 run
and played good team basketball throughout the game. They had balanced
scoring lead by Jonathan Hilliman with 14, Sky Harris, Frank Smith, and
James Waldron with 6, Shlok Garg with 4, and Aqeel Daniels and Wesley Mah
with 2.
Edison 64 - Metuchen 55
The 7th Grade Boys took sole procession of 1st Place in the Central Jersey
Basketball League with a win over the previously unbeaten Metuchen
team. They came back from a 3 point halftime deficit and finished strong once
again to pull out the victory. They made 14 of 18 Foul Shots, (78%), to
help them get the win. They were lead with a dominant performance by
Jonathan Hilliman with 33 points. Also scoring were Sky Harris with 15, Frank
Smith with 14, and Joey Siecinski with 2. They take a 7-0 record into the
XMAS break and we are very proud of how every player on the team has started
the season and contributed to the teams early season success.
1/12/09 - Edison 43 - Westfield 23
The 7th Grade Boys came back from the Holiday Break to continue their winning
streak with a convincing 42-23 win over Westfield. They improve their overall
record to 8-0. Leading the team was their Captain Jonathon Hilliman with 19
points, followed by Frank Smith with 11, Shlok Garg with 8, and Joey
Siecinski and Wesley Mah finishing out the scoring with 2 points each.
1/16/09 - Edison 47 - Merrill Park 39
The 7th Grade Boys Team continued their winning streak with a home win at
Woodrow Wilson Middle School over a tough Merrill Park Team. They lead
throughout the game and finished strong again to pull out a 47-39 win. They
improved their overall record to 9-0. Leading the scoring was Jonathon Hilliman
with 24, followed by Sky Harris with 12, Tyler Uckar with 6, Aqeel Daniels with
3, and James Waldron with 2.
1/17/09 - Edison 49 - North Brunswick 41
The 7th Grade Travel Boys overcame another halftime deficit and finished strong
again to continue their winning streak. They improve their overall record to
10-0. Their Captain Jonathan Hilliman scored a season high 36 points, followed
by Sky Harris with 8, Joey Siecinski and Schlok Garg with 2, and Frank Smith
with 1.
1/18/09 - Edison 57 - WWP Hoopsters 17
The 7th Grade Travel Boys dominated this game from the start to continue their
winning streak and improve their overall record to 11-0. All players
contributed to the impressive performance with balanced scoring coming from
Jonathan Hilliman with 22, Sky Harris with 10, James Waldron with 9, Frank
Smith with 8, Aqeel Daniels with 4, and Joey Siecinski and Daven Modi with 2.
1/24/09 - Edison 78 - St. Helena's 33
The 7th Grade Travel Boys exploded in the 2nd half and outscored their opponent
44-10, to cap off another convincing win. They also shot 75% from the foul
line, to help improve their overall record to 12-0. They had a balanced scoring
attack with 4 players scoring double digits; Jonathan Hilliman with 18, Sky
Harris with 16, Aqueel Daniels with 11, and Frank Smith with 10. Also
providing some nice scoring was James Waldron with 9, Shlok Garg with 6, Daven
Modi with 4, and Joey Siecinski and Tyler Uckar with 2. Wesley Mah did a
fine job distributing the ball and piling up the assists, to help
contribute to the impressive win.
1/26/09 - Edison 43 - Westfield 26
The 7th Grade Boys kept their winning streak going with another convincing
win over Westfield. They improved their overall record to 13-0. They had
balanced scoring throughout their lineup lead by Jonathan Hilliman with 16
points, followed by Sky Harris with 8, James Waldron with 6, Aqueel Daniels
with 4, Daven Modi, Wesley Mah, Tyler Uckar, and Frank Smith with 2, and Joey
Siecinski with 1.
Edison 62 - South Brunswick YMCA 43
The 7th Grade Boys had another big 2nd half to finish strong and keep their
winning streak alive. They improve their overall record to 14-0. After a
close 1st half, they made some defensive adjustments and came out fired up
in the 2nd half to take control of the game. They were lead by their Captain
Jonathan Hilliman with 31 points, followed by Sky Harris with 10, Frank Smith
with 6, Aqueel Daniels with 5, Joey Siecinski and Daven Modi with 4, and
Shlok Garg with 2. Frank Smith wore out his new knee pads by going to the
floor for every loose ball and helping his team maintain possession at several
key points in the game.
2/3/09 - Edison 51 - Carteret 29
The 7th Grade Travel Boys fell behind 7-1 to start the game, but finished strong
again for another convincing victory to improve their overall record to
15-0. Jonathan Hilliman lead the scoring with 21 points, followed by Sky
Harris with 10, Frank Smith with 7, Joey Siecinski with 4, Aqueel Daniels
with an awesome 3 point play, and Daven Modi, Shlok Garg, and Tyler Uckar
with 2 each. Wesley Mah and James Waldron did an excellent job handling the
ball against the pressure defense and had some very nice assists.
Edison 60 - Robbinsville 36
Robbinsville started the game by hitting three straight 3 pointers, to take an
early 9-2 lead, but that was not enough to stop the 7th Graders winning
streak as they finished strong again to improve their overall record to
16-0. Leading the scoring was Jonathan Hilliman with 28 points, followed by a
season high for James Waldron with 10, Sky Harris and Frank Smith with
8, and Joey Siecinski, Daven Modi, and Wesley Mah with 2 each. Tyler Uckar
and Shlok Garg also contributed to the win with some tough shut down defense.
2/9/09 - Edison 50 - North Brunswick 27
The 7th Grade Travel Boys followed their recent trend to have a 5 point lead at
half time, and then take control of the game in the 2nd half. Their strong
finish once again led them to their 17th straight win. Leading the scoring
was Captain Hilliman with 19 points, followed by Sky Harris with 8, Frank
Smith with 7, Tyler Uckar with 6, Shlok Garg with 4, Joey Siecinski, Aqueel
Daniels, and Wesley Mah with 2. James Waldron played some tough defense and
Daven Modi distributed the ball well to help contribute to the win.
Edison 48 - Princeton 34
In a battle for 1st place, the 7th Grade Boys again followed their recent trend
of having a 5 point lead at halftime and finishing the game strong to capture
their 18th straight win. They remain in sole pocession of 1st Place and now have
a 2 game lead in the North Brunswick Basketball League. Captain Hilliman lead the
team in scoring with 25 points, followed by Aqueel Daniels and Frank Smith with 7,
Joey Siecinski, Daven Modi, Sky Harris, and Shlok Garg with 2, and James
Waldron with 1. Wesley Mah and Tyler Uckar helped contribute to the win with
some tough defense.
Edison 46 - Westfield 31
The 7th Graders took control of this game right from the start to capture their
19th straight win. They were led by their Captain Jonathan Hilliman with 21
points, followed by Sky Harris with 9, Shlok Garg with 6, Joey Siecinski and
Frank Smith with 4, and Aqueel Daniels with 2.
Central Jersey All Star Game
Edison was well represented at the Central Jersey All Star Game on
President's Day at North Brunswick High School. An All Star Team was led by
Edison's Jonathan Hilliman, Sky Harris, and Joey Siecinski, who all had
impressive showings to help their team to a victory, and continue to be a
part of a season long winning streak. Edison's Joe Siecinski was honored to
coach the All Star Team and very proud of how the Edison players represented
themselves. Edison's Daven Modi also had an impressive showing in the 3
point competition by coming in 2nd place for the 2nd year in a row. Daven
missed 1st place by only one 3 point basket. All represented Edison very
well.
2/24/09 - Edison 47 - Perth Amboy 19
The 7th Grade Travel Boys finished up their regular season in the Central Jersey
Basketball League with a convincing win. They were led by Captain Hilliman
with 17 points, followed by a season high 15 points from Frank Smith. Also
scoring were Sky Harris with 6, James Waldron with 5, and Joey Siecinski and
Daven Modi with 2. James Waldron was awarded the Defensive Player of
the Game with some awesome plays and hustle. They head into the CJBL playoffs
with an undefeated record and the #1 seed.
Edison 47, Iselin 19
The 7th Grade Boys capped a Sunday Road Doubleheader with
identical scores in both games. They were led by Captain Hilliman with 18
points, followed by James Waldron with 8, Sky Harris with 6, Daven Modi and
Frank Smith with 4, Joey Siecinski with 3, and Tyler Uckar and Shlok Garg
with 2. They improve their overall record to 21-0.
3/5/09 - Edison 54 - Cranbury 12
The 7th Grade Travel Boys dominated the 1st half of this game by a score of
37-1. They were led by Jonathan Hilliman with 32 points, followed by Frank
Smith with 7, Tyler Uckar and James Waldron with 4, Sky Harris, Shlok Garg, and
Aqueel Daniels with 2, and Wesley Mah with 1.
Edison 70 - Wesfield Silver 17
After a 1st Round bye in the Central Jersey Basketball League, the 7th Grade Boys
won this 2nd Round Playoff Game convincingly to advance to the Semi-Finals.
Their leading scorer for the 1st time was Frank Smith with 13 points, followed
by James Waldron with 11, Aqueel Daniels and Sky Harris with 10, Jonathan Hilliman
with 8, Tyler Uckar with 7, Daven Modi and Shlok Garg with 4, and Wesley Mah with a 3.
3/9/09 - Edison 44 - South Brunswick YMCA 30
The 7th Grade Boys advanced to the Central Jersey Basketball League Finals for the
2nd year in a row. They improved their overall record to 24-0 with this convincing
Semi-Final win. The scoring in the game came from Jonathan Hilliman with 14
points, Sky Harris with 8, Shlok Garg with 6, Daven Modi, Aqueel Daniels, and
Frank Smith with 4, and Joey Siecinski and Tyler Uckar with 2. Playing some
solid defense and team basketball was James Waldron and Wesley Mah. They
will face the #2 seeded Metuchen Team in the Championship Game, whose only
loss all year was to Edison.
Edison 43 - WWP Hoopsters 20
In the North Brunswick League, the 7th Grade Boys won convincing in the 1st Round
of the Playoffs. As the #1 seed, they will automatically advance to the Semi-Finals
on Friday Night at North Brunswick High School at 7:30pm. Scoring were Jonathan Hilliman
with 21 points, Aquell Daniels with 8, Frank Smith with 6, James Waldron with 4, and Sky
Harris and Tyler Uckar with 2. Joey Siecinski played some tough defense, along with
Daven Modi, Wesley Mah, and Shlok Garg helping keep WWP to only 20 points. They
advance their overall record to 25-0.
3/14/09 - Edison 60 - Robbinsville 41 - NBBA Semifinal
The 7th Grade Boys will advance to the NBBA Finals after a convincing win over
Robbinsville. They had a balanced scoring attack as Robbinsville double
teamed our Captain and Leading Scorer Jonathan Hilliman, allowing the rest
of the team to demonstrate their abilities and show how strong and deep this
team is. Leading the scoring was James Waldron & Sky Harris with 12 points,
followed by Shlok Garg, Aqueel Daniels, and Jonathan Hilliman with 10, Frank
Smith with 4, and Tyler Uckar with 2. They improve their overall record to 26-0.
3/15/09 - Edison 57 - North Brunswick 40 - NBBA CHAMPIONS!
The 7th Grade Boys Travel Team are CHAMPIONS of the North Brunswick Basketball
Association. In was close early, but they turned it up again to win the
championship in convincing fashion. They showed their team strength and
depth again by eventually wearing down their North Brunswick opponent. Once
again they had a balanced scoring attack led by their Captain Jonathan Hilliman
with 19 points, followed by Frank Smith with 9, James Waldron with 7, Sky
Harris with 6, Joey Siecinski with 5, Agueel Daniels and Shlok Garg with 4,
Daven Modi with 2, and Wesley Mah with 1. They improve their overall record
to 27-0.
3/16/09 - Edison 47 - Metuchen 40 - CJBL CHAMPIONS!
The 7th Grade Boys came out fired up and jumped out to an early lead they would
never relinquish. Metuchen made several runs, and cut the lead to 2 at one
time, but could never get over the Edison hump. It was a very hard fought,
emotional, and exciting game as the Edison 7th Graders played their hearts
out to win their 2nd Championship in 2 days. They were led by their Captain
and Team MVP Jonathan Hilliman with 23 points, followed by Sky Harris with 12
points making some key jump shots down the stretch, Aqueel Daniels with 6
points and a great defensive effort holding Metuchen's leading scorer to only 6
points, James Waldron with 2 points and more great defense holding
Metuchen's 2nd leading scorer to only 5 points, Frank Smith with 2 points
while defending the basket to the time he fouled out, and Joey Siecinski with 2
points by dropping in 2 big foul shots down the stretch. They finish
their league play with a outstanding 28-0 RECORD, that could not be
accomplished without the contributions from every member of the team
including Shlok Garg, Daven Modi, Wesley Mah, and Tyler Uckar. We are very
proud of how every one of the players worked hard, played together as a
team, and represented Edison Basketball.
